Trump will see Puerto Rico Again

There are about 1 million citizens in Florida from Puerto Rico, many most recently moving into the I-4 Corridor of Orlando and surrounding areas. The majority are said to be registered to vote Democratic. Last year, the Puerto Rico residents in Florida elected their own member of Congress as a Democrat. That seat was held by a Republican for many years. The population of Puerto Rico today is approximately 3.5 million. Political consultants are already buzzing about what h

    Democrat's Challenge

Will Rogers once said, "I am not a member of any organized political party. I am a Democrat." Humorous, but seemingly true today--at least in Florida. How did it happen? In 1972, the early favorite for the Democratic nomination to take on Republican President Richard Nixon was respected Maine Senator Ed Muskie. Swing Endorsements in the 6 Swing States

As of this writing, we are almost down to the wire of the 2016 Presidential Election. With some very few exceptions, it seems the election is going to come down to a half a dozen states--the so called "Super Swing States." I thought it might be interesting to opine on who might be able to most influence (in exchange for a resounding endorsement) the outcome for the clear favorite, Democrat Hillary Clinton. Here are the states and the key 'swing' endorsements: Florida - Fo

    Citizens United in Florida

In 2014 the United States Court came down with the historic Citizens United Ruling allowing unlimited financial contributions for candidates. The rationale for the ruling seems to be consistent with a value of our country--not restricting access of citizens to their government. The initial thought is we are talking about ensuring access to meet and communicate with our representatives for their effective representation of our interests. But, when you take the rationale to t
