Adams Army was composed of about a dozen of the most accomplished and experienced staff and lobbyists ever assembled in Tallahassee. This happened during the Golden Age of the Florida Legislature, '70's and '80's. As explained below, the group banned together under the leadership of former Lt. Governor and Secretary of State Tom Adams. Using his many contacts in the Jaycees and Young Democrats, Adams sought out the 'Best and Brightest,' and found them largely under the direction of former Attorney General and Secretary of State Jim Smith from Jacksonville.
