Few Florida legislators in the '70's amd '80's were as liked and respected as Republican Representative Betty Easley from Clearwater. She was know for her tireless research on legislation, but also a crippling wit that she often used to politically disarm opponents. As you will read below, she was known by all as a straight shooter. Unlike what I am told is the practice today of breaking one's word, with Betty, her word could be taken to the bank.. Although we are from different parties, I would not have hesitated to cross the aisle to support the distinguished Lady from the 56th District.
