Post # 351, Bob McKnight's Florida Commentary
Trump breaks two major promises in the first 48 hours.
Broken Promise #1: Most Trump supporters remember President-Elect Trump's promise on Hannity in 2023, to end the Russia-Ukraine War, "I would fix that [Russia-Ukraine War] within 24 hours. And if I win, before I get into the office I will have that war settled. A hundred percent sure."
The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump never had a plan to get Ukrainan President Zelensky and Russian President Putin together to settle the raging war, but knew his base would believe it. He never offered any solution during his long campaign, "I can't give you those plans because if I give you those plans, I'm not going to be able to use them." This is the same thing he said about not agreeing to Biden's bi-partisan immigration legislation so it could pass during Trump's Administration..
Broken Promise #2 During the campaign information about "Project 2025" leaked out and then Candidate Trump said he knew nothing about it. It was disclosed at the time that the authors had the full support of Trump and it would be his agenda if he won. Four days after Trump's successful election, Matt Walsh a right-wing podcast host confirmed, "Now that the election is over I think we can finally say Project 2025 is the [Trump] agenda." Conservative influencer Benny Johnson said, "It is my honor to inform you all that Project 2025 was real the whole time."
It has been 48 hours since Trump was elected.
