    Now What?

Post # 60, Bob McKnight's Subscription Commentary Collusion. Obstruction. Serious Findings but the only option is for House to Impeach, which will never be tried in Senate. The Election will be the Answer for resolution. The long awaited Mueller Report is out and now thoroughly reviewed. The conclusion seems to rest on what was the charge to the Special Counsel from the Department of Justice. Robert Mueller said that since the DOJ cannot charge the President under their

    Mr. Key West

Post # 57, Bob McKnight's Subscription Commentary Rest well Mr. Key West. You did well. In 1978 I decided to leave what I felt was a safe seat in the Florida House of Representatives representing about 1/3 of Miami, to run for the Senate covering even more of Miami and all the Florida Keys. It was not an easy move because I had to beat two Senators to do it. But, the move to the Senate gave me a chance to meet a wonderful Conch named David Wolkowsky. He was a very smart an

Quorum Call for Senator Gerald Lewis (D., Miami)

This Quorum Call is for one of Florida's longest serving public servants. Senator Gerald Lewis was an Alabama transplant through Harvard University Law School, joining in the historic House of Representatives Class of 1966. He quickly moved on to the Senate four years later, and then defeated long time Comptroller Bud Dickinson to win his seat on the Cabinet. That seat was held by a Republican for many years. The population of Puerto Rico today is approximately 3.5 million. Political consultants are already buzzing about what h

If The Election Were Held Today...What Would it Mean in 2017?

As of this writing on Labor Day, we are less than 2 months from the election. Yes, an awful lot can happen in that time, especially with these two major party candidates--more disliked than any finalists in history. But, for those looking ahead, what could we expect in 2017, if the election were held today? In spite of my last Post raising questions about Secretary Clinton's candidacy, we have to assume Secretary Clinton wins the Presidency since she is leading today in all

    Marco Rubio. Lost Opportunity

My districts in the Florida Senate and House of Representatives in the '70's and '80's included the City of West Miami. I didn't know him then, but a young man from Cuba, Marco Rubio, was growing up at that time planning to take my House seat in the Legislature some day. He did. In many ways Rubio is politically very attractive. He is smart with a law degree from the University of Miami. He and his family are very good looking, and his language skills in both English and
